What is this visit?

An eye exam checks your vision and the health of each of your eyes. Your eye doctor may have you look at letters and pictures to test your eyesight. They may also use eye drops or puffs of air to see your pupils better.

Who needs this visit?

Children should have at least one eye exam between the ages of 3 and 5. Children should have an eye exam before first grade and every year after until they are an adult.
